Today, the researchers of the AGREE project, funded by the Swedish Institute (SI), transitioned from theory to practice at one of the industry’s largest events — the demonstration exhibition “UCAB Agrotechnologies” (held in Doslidnytske town, Bila Tserkva District, Kyiv Region).

Professor Taras Karavayev, AGREE Project Coordinator from SUTE, alongside researcher and PhD student Bohdan Ratushnyi, immersed themselves in the atmosphere of a modern “Field Day” to observe the current state and future prospects of the Ukrainian agricultural sector firsthand. The team explored cutting-edge solutions in precision farming, autonomous machinery, and intelligent crop management systems — the exact areas where the project’s AI-driven solutions are expected to yield the highest economic impact.

Key Outcomes of the participation in the exhibition:

Advanced Technologies in Action: The team examined state-of-the-art solutions in precision agriculture, autonomous equipment, and smart crop management. These domains align precisely with the application areas where the project’s AI tools can deliver maximum efficiency.

Potential of Domestic Agricultural Producers: The visit reaffirmed that Ukrainian agribusiness remains ready to adopt innovations even under exceptionally challenging conditions.

New Strategic Partnership: The researchers conducted a series of negotiations, laying the groundwork for collaboration with new potential partners. Integrating practitioners into the AGREE network is a key priority for the successful implementation of the project.

A Milestone Event for the Project: A prominent highlight of the day was the agreement reached to initiate cooperation with the L. Pohorilyi Ukrainian Scientific Research Institute of Forecasting and Testing of Machinery and Technologies for Agricultural Production, which is also located in Doslidnytske town. The consortium anticipates their active expert involvement in executing the AGREE project, as well as fruitful scientific collaboration across other academic directions with the State University of Trade and Economics (SUTE). Synergizing SUTE’s academic expertise with the robust research infrastructure of the L. Pohorilyi Institute opens up new horizons for Ukrainian agricultural science.

Direct engagement with manufacturers and developers confirmed that the strategic vector chosen for the AGREE project is exceptionally relevant to market needs. Work continues on advancing the goals and tasks of the AGREE project!
